Park Illegally and Lose Your House

Brooksville, a small town near Central Florida, is working on passing an ordinance that would allow the city to either seize your home or confiscate your car if you fail to pay your parking ticket.

If the person that received the ticket wants to appeal it, they are required to pay a $250 "appeal fee". Furthermore, the city is leaving it up to a city employee to determine whether or not the person is guilty.

If the ticket is not paid after 90 days, the city has the right, according to the ordinance, to foreclose on the ticket holders house. If the ticket holder does not own a house, they will seize their car instead.

The full text of the ordinance is available in a 605k PDF file at the source link below.
